Having resided in Barcelona for a little over six years, I am beginning to question whether I made the right decision. While Facebook has offered me certain values throughout our time together, I have not been able to apply them to my daily life.
As someone who was raised on the works of The Economist and Machiavelli, it is perplexing to me that even though I possess a more competitive and cutthroat mindset, I still do not resort to violent means to acquire what I desire, such as when I witnessed a child on the street savoring a piece of candy.
Furthermore, I am utterly flabbergasted that individuals in some places, excluding the United States, believe it is justifiable to physically assault others who are merely occupying a public space.
Alas, such paradoxes have left me questioning the tenets of our society and the extent to which our beliefs align with our actions
